YouTube adds New Short Insights and Post Presentation Options
YouTube announced several changes and updates in its latest Creator Insider video of 2022, including a new measurement display for shorts, expanded creative publishing tools, and a new streaming info page. live.
First, on the shorts metrics – YouTube produces their shorts remix report, which is currently only available on the YouTube Studio mobile app and can also be accessed on desktop and provides another way to keep an eye on the performance of your shorts.
The Shorts Remix report highlights all of your Shorts clips that have been used to create other Shorts and show the number of times your content has been remixed, along with views of the remix.
It’s another way to track the overall performance of your short clips, and given that Shorts are already viewed on the app by over 1.5 billion users each month, it seems like a pretty safe bet to assume that Shorts will make up a larger share of videos YouTube totals. the ecosystem in 2023.
Perhaps worth considering in planning for 2023. YouTube is also adding new metrics to the Key Metrics view in YouTube Studio, providing more insight into the app.
According to YouTube: “Currently, impressions are the only metric displayed on the top metrics card for posts in the studio. This week, we’ll be adding additional metrics to the card, including likes and followers on mobile and web”.
So basically you are presented with more advanced data types in the app which can help highlight additional considerations in your strategic thinking.
YouTube has also launched a new live streaming overview section on the YouTube for Creators site, offering a range of guides, tips and pointers for your streaming strategy. There are some handy tips out there, and if you’re thinking of getting into live streaming, it might be worth a look.
Finally, YouTube is also introducing new posting options, with an expansion of the quizzes, it’s been testing with some creators, as well as the iOS rollout of its stickers and graphic overlays. So nothing major, no huge updates or changes to YouTube as we head into 2023, just a few interesting changes that might be worth noting in your approach.
